Ivy Cottage design services are unique. There is no hourly charge. We take on clients with a realistic budget and time frame, and a willingness to be creative. Smaller clients can bring in photos and we will be happy to help you in-store.

Lisa Allen is a savvy and talented interior designer who has worked with homeowners and businesses in the Cary, NC and the Triangle area for more than 20 years. She loves helping clients decorate their homes to each individual's personal taste. Lisa attends the High Point Market each spring and fall to keep abreast of all the new lines and industry trends. She also attends the AtlantasMart as well as home design shows in New York. Allen’s studio, located above the Ivy Cottage sales floor, reflects her love of color and enduring design.

THE PROCESS:

An initial consultation includes a trip to your home where we take pictures, measure, and explore the style, colors, and the desired look that you want to achieve in your home. We listen carefully to your plans, priorities, and expectations.

Our second meeting occurs in our store. Here, you are presented with ideas and suggestions uniquely tailored to the priorities that you provided during our first meeting. Our goal is to create a warm, beautiful living space for you that reflects your personal style.

We then get to work! Many designers shop for items, charge retail and an additional percentage plus an hourly fee! We simply source from our list of hand-selected vendors which enables us to finish your project efficiently and for the same price as if you had come in and selected the items yourself. No extra fees!

HOW MUCH DO YOUR INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES COST?

While we do not charge an hourly fee, we only take on clients with a realistic budget and the ability to make decisions within a reasonable time frame. We ask that you have at at least $5000 budget set aside before we schedule a visit. This enables us to make enough impactful changes, whether they be small or big, so that you are truly wowed by the transformation.

WHAT SORT OF CHANGES CAN I EXPECT?

That’s up to you! We can accessorize with soft furnishings and decor items, custom-design window treatments, personalize your space with fun area rugs, re-upholster furnishings (or bring in completely new pieces!)… whatever you need or desire!

 

CAN I CHOOSE A SPECIFIC LOOK AND FEEL?

Yes! In fact, we encourage you to share as many Pinterest pictures and inspiration images as possible so that we can curate a home that you are proud of and love to live in.

WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR FURNITURE FROM?

We have procured an enormous collection of home furnishings in the 23 years we’ve been open for business. We also have an extensive list of high quality vendors and suppliers that can help us source specific items for your space and budget.

 

DO WE NEED TO MOVE OUT DURING THE PROCESS?

No, we are able to work around you and your family’s needs, but there may be times when certain areas are “off limits” for your safety :)
